Zelda Ocarina of Time Midnight Launch: Best Buy Hours, Preorders and Deals
The excitement surrounding The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is building among gaming fans. According to the announcement provided, Best Buy plans to open nearly all of its U.S. stores at midnight Eastern Time on November 5, giving customers an opportunity to purchase the game as soon as it becomes available.
The reported launch event could be especially exciting for fans who enjoy buying new video games in person. Customers may be able to collect their preorders, shop for limited-edition Nintendo products, and celebrate one of gaming’s most recognizable franchises.
The announcement also mentions a limited number of special products, including The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Edition Nintendo Switch 2 System and a matching Switch 2 Pro Controller. Customers interested in these items should check availability before visiting a store because limited-edition products can sell out quickly.
Another detail may interest frequent Best Buy shoppers. The announcement says My Best Buy Plus and My Best Buy Total members can earn 10% back when preordering The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, subject to the offer’s applicable terms.
In this guide, we explain the reported launch schedule, preorder options, store pickup process, special-edition products, and important details customers should check before launch night.
1. Best Buy Plans a Midnight Zelda Launch
According to the supplied announcement, nearly all Best Buy stores in the United States are expected to open at midnight Eastern Time on November 5 for the reported launch of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
A midnight launch allows customers to shop for a new game as soon as it becomes available instead of waiting until normal store hours later that morning.
For longtime Zelda fans, the event could also offer an opportunity to share their excitement with other gamers. Customers who prefer shopping in person may enjoy collecting their games and accessories directly from a local store.
However, customers should not assume that every Best Buy location will follow the same schedule. Store participation, product availability, and local operating hours may vary.
Before making a trip, visit the official Best Buy Zelda page to review the available information.
It is also important to verify the game's release date and midnight event details through official sources before publishing or relying on the announcement.
2. What Time Will Best Buy Open?
The supplied announcement lists the midnight launch in Eastern Time and provides corresponding times for other U.S. time zones.
Here is the reported schedule:
| U.S. time zone | Reported opening time |
|---|---|
| Eastern Time (ET) | November 5 at 12:00 a.m. |
| Central Time (CT) | November 4 at 11:00 p.m. |
| Mountain Time (MT) | November 4 at 10:00 p.m. |
| Pacific Time (PT) | November 4 at 9:00 p.m. |
These times are based on the announcement and should be confirmed with Best Buy before the event.
If you plan to attend, check the schedule for your local store. A nearby location may not participate in the late-night opening, and some stores may have different arrangements.
Customers should also consider travel time, parking, store entry instructions, and possible lines. Arriving early may help you prepare, but it does not guarantee that a limited-edition product will be available.
Tip: Use the Best Buy Zelda late-night opening and store locator page to check participating locations and the latest event information.
3. Zelda Ocarina of Time Preorders
The announcement says customers can preorder The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time through three channels:
- Best Buy's official website
- A participating Best Buy store
- The Best Buy mobile app
Preordering can be useful for customers who want to arrange their purchase before launch day. Depending on the available options, shoppers may also be able to select a preferred fulfillment method.
Before placing an order, read the product listing carefully. Confirm the platform, edition, price, release date, and delivery or pickup information. This is especially important when multiple editions or accessories appear in search results.
You can begin by visiting the Best Buy Zelda franchise page.
Do not assume that every store has the same stock or that every product shown online is available for immediate pickup. Availability can change, especially when demand is high.
Customers should also check the official product description to understand exactly what is included with the game. This helps prevent confusion between a standalone game, a bundle, and a special-edition console package.
4. Limited-Edition Zelda Nintendo Switch 2 System
One of the most interesting products mentioned in the announcement is The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Edition Nintendo Switch 2 System.
According to the supplied information, Best Buy expects to have a limited number of these systems available for purchase during the launch event.
Special-edition consoles often appeal to collectors and fans who want gaming hardware connected to a favorite franchise. They can also be attractive to shoppers who are planning to upgrade their gaming setup.
However, the exact design, included accessories, price, and stock status should be checked on the official product page before making a purchase.
View the Zelda 40th Anniversary Edition Switch 2 System listing for the available product details.
Because the announcement describes limited quantities, customers should not assume that every participating store will receive the same number of units.
If this console is your main target, check the listing and your local store's information before traveling. An online listing does not necessarily guarantee that a particular location has stock available.
5. Zelda 40th Anniversary Edition Switch 2 Pro Controller
The announcement also mentions a The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Edition Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller.
A controller can be a useful addition for players who prefer a traditional gamepad for supported games. A special-edition design may also appeal to Zelda fans who collect themed gaming accessories.
The controller is listed as a limited-availability item in the supplied announcement. Customers should therefore check the product page and local availability before visiting a store.
You can review the Zelda 40th Anniversary Edition Switch 2 Pro Controller on Best Buy's website.
Before ordering, confirm that the controller is compatible with your console and meets your needs. Also review the product description to determine whether any additional accessories are included.
If you already own a compatible console, purchasing a controller separately may be an option. If you are buying a console bundle, check the included items to avoid purchasing the same accessory twice.
6. My Best Buy Plus and Total Member Rewards
The announcement says My Best Buy Plus and My Best Buy Total members can earn 10% back when preordering The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
This offer may be worth checking for customers who already have an eligible membership. Depending on the official offer terms, rewards could help reduce the effective cost of a future purchase.
However, customers should carefully review the current membership benefits and promotion conditions before placing an order.
Important details to check include:
- Whether the preorder qualifies for the offer
- Which membership plans are eligible
- How the 10% back is calculated
- Whether exclusions or spending limits apply
- When rewards become available
- How the rewards can be redeemed
Do not assume that the offer applies to every Zelda product, console, controller, or bundle. The announcement specifically refers to preordering the game.
Check the official Best Buy website and the terms shown during checkout to confirm the current offer. Promotional conditions can change, and eligibility may depend on the exact product and membership status.
If you do not already have a paid membership, compare its cost and benefits before signing up just to receive a single promotion.
7. How to Pick Up Your Zelda Preorder
Customers who choose in-store pickup should review their order details before launch night.
The supplied announcement says customers who have selected pickup for the game can visit a participating store during the late-night opening to collect their preorder. It also says customers will receive an email with an option to switch to store pickup.
The exact steps may depend on your order status and the options available for your selected product.
Here is a practical checklist for launch night:
- Check your order confirmation. Make sure your preorder is complete and that the product details are correct.
- Review pickup instructions. Confirm the store address, pickup method, and any instructions in your order email.
- Watch for updates. Read messages from Best Buy in case the pickup time or fulfillment details change.
- Bring the required information. Have your order confirmation and any identification required by the store.
- Check the store schedule. Confirm that your selected location is participating in the midnight opening.
- Follow staff instructions. Store employees can direct customers to the appropriate pickup area or queue.
Do not travel to a store based only on a general launch announcement. Your order confirmation and local store information are the best places to check your specific arrangements.
If pickup is not available for your order, review the other fulfillment options shown by Best Buy.
8. Tips for Getting Limited-Edition Zelda Products
Limited-edition gaming products can attract strong demand. If you are interested in the anniversary console or controller, planning ahead may make the shopping process easier.
Check availability early. Visit the official product pages and look for current stock information.
Choose a store carefully. Confirm that the location is participating and that its pickup or purchase options match your plans.
Read product details. Make sure you understand which edition you are buying and what is included.
Set a realistic budget. Consider the cost of the game, console, controller, taxes, and any other accessories you want.
Use official channels. Purchase through Best Buy or another authorized retailer when possible. Be careful with unfamiliar sellers, suspicious offers, and listings with prices that seem unusually high or low.
Keep your confirmation. Save your order email and any relevant pickup instructions so you can find them quickly.
Most importantly, remember that a limited-edition product announcement does not guarantee stock at every store. Check current availability before making a special trip.
9. Why Zelda Fans Are Interested in the Launch
The Legend of Zelda is one of Nintendo's best-known gaming franchises. Its adventures, memorable characters, puzzles, and exploration have helped it attract fans across multiple generations.
Ocarina of Time is particularly significant in video game history. Originally released for the Nintendo 64 in 1998, it became widely recognized for bringing the series' adventure formula into a three-dimensional world.
The game introduced many players to large environments, dungeon exploration, musical mechanics, and a more cinematic approach to action-adventure gameplay.
Because of this history, news about a new release, special edition, or anniversary product can generate interest among longtime fans and newer players alike.
Still, shoppers should distinguish between the historical game and the specific product being announced. Before purchasing, verify whether the listing refers to a new release, a re-release, a remake, a remaster, or another edition. The product page should clearly explain what customers will receive.
This step is especially important when a headline refers to a familiar classic but the exact product format is not immediately clear.
